Working in Marvila: a neighbourhood guide for people who spend the day here

How to get here, where to park and why Lisbon's eastern side, between Marvila and Braço de Prata, became a place to work.

For decades Marvila and Braço de Prata were Lisbon's industrial district: wine warehouses, factories and workshops along the Tagus. Many of these buildings are now being restored as offices, studios, galleries and restaurants, keeping their high ceilings and original structure.

Getting here

  • Train: Braço de Prata station is a 5-minute walk from WorkHub Matinha and 2 minutes from WorkHub Prata.
  • Bus: routes 728, 750, 26B, 210 and 781.
  • Bike: there is a cycle lane and bike parking at both buildings.
  • Car: free public parking outside Matinha; at Prata, private parking included in the monthly fee.

Why work here

  • Space: industrial buildings with natural light and high ceilings you won't find in the centre.
  • Price: lower rents than Lisbon's traditional office districts.
  • Close to everything: Parque das Nações is next door and the centre a few minutes away by train.
  • Neighbourhood life: galleries, craft breweries and restaurants in old warehouses, with the river close by.

Two buildings, ten minutes apart

WorkHub Matinha, on Praceta da Tabaqueira, has coworking, private offices and storage on the same floor. WorkHub Prata, on Rua Fernando Palha, has private offices only. They are about ten minutes apart, with the same services and one invoice.

We started in 2015 in the Abel Pereira da Fonseca building in Poço do Bispo. Restoring what already exists is still how we choose.

Come and see the space before you decide. We'll find a time that suits you, at both buildings on the same day.
